{"id":64,"count":2,"description":"Throughout the Pacific region, human rights defenders experience harassment, violence and threats in their communities and by state security forces.\r\nIn some countries in Oceania, repressive laws allow to restrict and persecute activists who work for their communities, for women's rights, climate protection as well as against environmental degradation and exploitation.\r\nIn Papua New Guinea, activists working on environmental and women's rights are particularly vulnerable. Women human rights defenders who are involved, for example, against the destruction caused by the Porgera mine are exposed to gender-based violence.\r\nThe manifold restrictions experienced by women, human rights defenders, LGBTI activists and environmentalists are further exacerbated in the region by the generally shrinking space for civil society involvement.\r\n","link":"https:\/\/www.ozeanien-dialog.de\/?cat=64&lang=en","name":"We defend Human Rights!","slug":"we-defend-human-rights","taxonomy":"category","parent":0,"meta":[],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ozeanien-dialog.de\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/categories\/64"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ozeanien-dialog.de\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/categories"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ozeanien-dialog.de\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/taxonomies\/category"}],"wp:post_type":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.ozeanien-dialog.de\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fposts&categories=64"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
